Don't just stand on the sidelines, be a part of some of the wonderful things happening in and around Detroit. Give time, give money, give space or give ideas. Whether you're an individual, corporation or the media, we need you to get involved and make our campaign a success.

  • Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History - The country's largest African American museum is always looking for volunteers to assist as information center representatives, museum teachers, membership recruiters, administrative assistants, museum store assistants, and collections assistants.   • Detroit Historical Museum - Several volunteer opportunities exist at the Detroit Historical Museum, Dossin Great Lakes Museum and Historic Fort Wayne. Opportunities include museum guides and docents, exhibit installers, historical researchers, and information desk assistants. For more information, call (313) 833-048.

  • Detroit Institute of Arts - DIA volunteers serve in a wide variety of functions including tour guides, speakers, gallery hosts, information desk representatives, museum shop assistants and community outreach lecturers. For more information, call (313) 833-7900.
  • First and Second Baptist Churches - Both historic churches were stops on the Underground Railroad and conduct regular public tours. For more information, call (313) 871-4676
  • Motown Historical Museum - Volunteer at the original home of Motown Records, where the likes of Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder and the Supremes recorded their most famous hits. For more information, call (313) 875-2264.
  • New Detroit Science Center - Join the PI Society, a group of volunteers who conduct demonstrations, lead tours and explain exhibits at The New Detroit Science Center. For more information, call (313) 577-8400, ext. 440

  • Preservation Wayne - Non-profit organization that preserves, promotes and protects the neighborhoods and structures that define Detroit. For more information, call (313) 577-3559.
  • Eight Mile Boulevard Association - The Eight Mile Boulevard Association (8MBA) revitalizes & promotes the Eight Mile transportation, business & residential corridor (between I-94 & I-275) by linking the efforts of the public & private sectors. Their current undertaking is a collaborative effort for regional clean-up called All Star Super Makeover.
  • Woodward Avenue Action Association (WA3) - This is a community development organization working to enhance and improve the visual, economic, functional and historic character of Woodward Avenue through a local and regional effort. Volunteer opportunities are available for the Woodward Avenue Pride Clean-Up, in collaboration with All-Star Super Sweep, and for other WA3 programs that will benefit Woodward and its surrounding communities.
