- America's Thanksgiving Parade® -- A long-standing Detroit tradition dating back to 1924, the annual parade takes place on Thanksgiving Day on Woodward Avenue in Detroit. Throughout the years, new traditions have begun, including the annual Turkey Trot, Michigan's largest 10k run, and Hob Nobble Gobble®, a one-of-a-kind, black-tie fundraiser to support America's Thanksgiving Parade®.
- International Freedom Festival -- The International Freedom Festival is the world's most extensive international festival and honors the long-standing friendship and freedom that has existed since the founding of Canada and the United States. The celebration officially lasts 13 days and brings together an astounding assortment of experiences for people of all ages including musical performances, art exhibits, food, carnival rides and the largest annual fireworks display in North America.
- Michigan State Fair -- The fair held annually in Detroit is the oldest in the nation, first opening on September 25, 1849. This year, the Michigan State Fair celebrates 100 years at the Fairgrounds on Woodward and Eight Mile. The fair will take place August 10 - 21, 2005.
- Arab International Festival -- Dearborn's annual festival transforms 12 city blocks of Warren Avenue into the largest Arab International Festival in the nation. The family-oriented festival takes place in June and features two stages with music and dance from around the globe, an artisan tent, ongoing children's entertainment, and arts and crafts.
